The Piedmont College men's soccer team defeated Great South Athletic Conference host Huntingdon Colleg tonight in Montgomery, AL by the score of 4-1. After falling behind 1-0 at the 2:00 mark the Lions responded with four unanswered goals.
Drew Griffin (pictured) earned two goals including the game-winner bringing his season total to a team high 10 goals. Jake Kreiger connected on a 25 yard bomb at the 39:00 mark and Diego Montoya added an insurance goal at the 86:00 mark on a penalty kick.
Also contributing for the Lions was Josh Seabrook, Patrick Kaminski, and Montoya who all added one assist apiece. The defense, led by George Sandi, held Huntingdon to only three shots on goal.
The victory improves PC to 5-6 overall and 3-1 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lions return to competition on Tuesday, October 4th as they host non-conference opponent Toccoa Falls College on Walker Field with kick-off beginning at 7:00.
