The Piedmont College men's basketball team opened up its home schedule with a 100-80 non-conference victory tonight over visiting Oglethorpe University in PC's Johnny Mize Athletic Center. Jake Baldwin led five players in double-figures with a game-high 31 points.
After OU jumped out the gate to a 20-7 lead, it was all Piedmont from there as the Lions responded with a 28-8 run to take a 48-41 advantage into halftime.Â
Oglethorpe would cut the Lion lead to 67-66 with 10:21 left to play, but Piedmont rallied again with a 28-3 run to put the game out of reach.Â
On the evening, Piedmont out-rebounded Oglethorpe 50-29 as five different players snared at least five rebounds.Â
Mike Adams added 15 points after battling early foul trouble while teammate Miles Kendall added 11 points and nine rebounds. David Adcock and Kyle Kemmerer added 10 points apiece. Kemmerer rounded out a double-double with 10 rebounds. Brent Walker posted a line of eight points, a game-high 11 rebounds, and five steals.Â
Piedmont returns to action on Friday, December 2nd and Saturday, December 3rd when the Lions take part in the Millsaps College Round Ball Classic in Jackson, MS. Piedmont will take on host Millsaps on Friday and Rust College on Saturday afternoon.Â
