Lady Lions Shut Out Wesleyan College 4-0

The Piedmont College women's soccer team defeated visiting Great South Athletic Conference opponent Wesleyan College tonight on Walker Field by the score of 4-0. After remaining scoreless the first half the Lady Lions scored four unanswered goals after intermission to secure the win.

Bergdis Gudnadottir (pictured) earned a hat trick of three goals, the first and eventual game-winner coming at the 57:00 mark on an assist from Missy Hoffman. Katie Wood then scored for the Lady Lions on a header crossed by Gudnadottir.

Gudnadottir scored her third and fourth goals at the 71:00 minute and the 86:00 on assists from Jammie Boyce and Brooke Bourgeois. Ashley Parker also recorded seven shots on goal.

Michelle Holland recorded her 5th shutout of the season between the posts earning two saves. The Lady Lions out shot their opponent 26-2 and held a 26-0 corner kick advantage.

The victory moves PC to 9-4 overall and 7-3 in the Great South Athletic Conference. The Lady Lions will resume competition again on Tuesday, October 25th as they host GSAC opponent Huntingdon College at Walker Field with game time slated for 7:00.
