Nikki Sosebee - 2008 Graduate - Women's Basketball (Bio at time of induction)
Nikki Sosebee joined the Lady Lion women's basketball program in the fall of 2004 and immediately made her presence known as she earning playing as a newcomer. She began playing under the direction of Coach Charles Cooper and continued under the direction of Coach Jamie Purdy. Sosebee was First Team All-Conference (Great South Athletic Conference--GSAC) all four years of her time at Piedmont College.
She was named GSAC Freshman of the Year following the 2004-2005 season and named to the All-Freshman Team. As a senior, Sosebee was named GSAC Player of the Year. She was on several all-tournament teams and was repeatedly named Best Offensive Player and Best Rebounder at Piedmont College.
On December 1, during her senior year, she was recognized for having scored 1,000 points so far in her college basketball career. Since completing her career at Piedmont College, Sosebee has taught high school and coached. She now teaches mathematics and coaches ninth grade girls basketball at Mill Creek High School in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Sosebee also completed a Master of Education Degree from Piedmont College in 2009.
Sosebee had a distinguished career as a high school student and athlete at Jackson County Comprehensive High School in Jefferson, Georgia. She participated in softball, basketball, and track. Overall, she won 10 varsity letters.
She is married to Eddie Wood, has one son, Ethan, and currently resides in Jackson County.
