As a Senior (2016): Posted an ERA 3.18… Appeared in 20 games pitching 28.1 innings for the Green and Gold…Ending the season with a record of 1-4… Faced 116 batters only giving up 32 hits and 10 earned runs on the season… Thomas posted 11 saves bring him to a total of 21 saves in his four years pitching for the Lions, breaking the career save recorded here at Piedmont and finishing sixth in the country in saves this season… Thomas had a three-save weekend during the team’s trip to Texas earning a spot on the D3Baseball Team of the Week… USA South Sportsmanship Award Winner.

As a Junior (2015): Posted an ERA of 1.53…Pitched in 35.1 innings for the Lions…Recorded 32 strikeouts for the Green & Gold…Ended the year with a 4-1 record…Had six saves…Gave up just six earned runs all season…Had his longest outing with six innings of relief work in an extra inning contest v. Covenant giving up just two hits and one run while striking out four batters…Named to the first team USA South All-Conference listing…Earned ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III South All-Region 3^rd Team…Named the program’s first Capital One Academic All-District honoree.

As a Sophomore (2014): Appeared in 20 games out of the bullpen for the Lions, and also posted a 2-1 record on the year…In just over 22 innings of work, he also acquired19 strikeouts…Held opponents to just 7 earned runs and a .261 batting average…Picked up his only save of the year against Maryville (4/26), and a season high 4 strikeouts against Emory (2/16)…USA South Academic All-Conference Selection.

As a Freshman (2013): Saw action in 18 games in his first season…Recorded one win, two loses and three saves as one of the Lions primary relief pitchers…Posted the second lowest ERA on the team (2.05)…Did not allow a home run in his 26.1 innings of work…USA South Academic All-Conference selection.

Prep & Personal: Born November 24th, 1993 to mother Abby Thomas…Has a sister named Tiffany…2012 graduate of Cherokee High School…Majoring in Secondary History Education at Piedmont…ACT Gold Achiever and SAT Silver Achiever…Recipient of the Vince Dooley Award…National Honor Society and Gamma Club member…Graduated in the top 5% of his high school class…Named to the Dean’s List each semester since arriving in Demorest…Member of Sigma Alpha Pi (Leadership Council) and also a volunteer for Habitat for Humanity…Prepped under high school Coach Jason McDaniel…Had a 0.82 ERA as a pitcher in high school…All-County 2nd Team honoree as a senior…Optimist Club Athlete of the Year in 2012…Earned the GPA Award all four years at Cherokee as well as the Warrior Award his junior year before being named MVP his senior year.
