Miranda Reininger enters her third season in the spring of 2020 with the women's lacrosse program after joining as an assistant coach in the spring of 2018.
Reininger joined the Piedmont staff following her own playing days at Slippery Rock University.
The Lady Lions continued to post double-digit win seasons with 10 wins in 2019 and 11 in 2018 with Reininger on staff. Piedmont went an impressive 8-1 in conference play in 2018 and earned a pair of hard fought wins over Methodist both on senior day and in the semifinals of the USA South tournament.
Reininger helped lead the Rock to a 12-6 record in her senior season in 2017 including a seven-game win streak to start the year. The 12 wins for the Rock marked the first 12-win season since 2012 for the Division II institution.
Reininger played defense for the Rock appearing in 13 or more games each year of her four-year career. She started in 55 games for Slippery Rock and had one of her best seasons in her senior year (2017) including scoring a goal. She finished the year with 12 ground balls, six caused turnovers, and one goal. Reininger was also a team captain and served as an office assistant for the Slippery Rock Head Women's Lacrosse Coach.
While in college, Reininger began coaching with Lady Roc Lacrosse Club serving as an assistant coach with the program for 7th and 8th grade athletes. Reininger served in that role from 2014-2017 assisting with drills, practice schedules, and travel logistics for the team.
Reininger also volunteered with the Special Olympics for three years handing out medals for the track events while also being active in the Special Olympic pep rallies cheering on the athletes. She also helped with a Victor summer lacrosse clinic to run different drills developing high school athletes.
Reininger is a 2017 graduate of Slippery Rock University with a bachelor's degree in Physical and Health Education. She was vice president of the Physical and Health Education club and a four-year member of the Dean's List. She was also a PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) Scholar Athlete for three years.
Reininger is originally from Farmington, New York and will assist in all facets of the Lady Lion lacrosse program.
