Zack Ernst enters his third season as an assistant coach with the Piedmont University men’s soccer program in Fall 2025. He joined the Lions in the summer of 2023 after serving as a TOCA soccer trainer and graduating from Berry College in 2022 with a degree in exercise science.
In 2024, Ernst helped guide the development of four All-CCS players while his continued focus on player development and team culture has been instrumental in the program’s growth.
During his first season in 2023, Ernst played a key role in helping freshman Davis Knight earn CCS Rookie of the Year honors. Knight and teammate Colin Vogel were both named to the All-CCS First Team, showcasing Ernst’s impact on player performance.
Ernst began his coaching career in 2019 at Atlanta Fire United SA Camps, where he assisted with training sessions and player development. While at Berry, he also supported multiple recruiting camps in 2019, 2021, and 2022.
As a student-athlete at Berry College, Ernst was a four-year member of the men’s soccer program. He helped the Vikings capture the 2021 SAA Conference Championship and earned All-SAA honors for his contributions. Over his career, he appeared in 54 matches, scoring 10 goals and adding seven assists.
