Kevin Anderson begins his second year as the assistant coach for the men’s lacrosse program at Piedmont College. Anderson brings a great deal of experience to the PC lacrosse program having played four years at NCAA Division II member school Pfeiffer University. Anderson also serves PC as an counselor in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions.
Tapped by head coach Peter Manderano to be the program’s first assistant coach, Anderson has used his experience collected up and down the eastern seaboard to help Manderano establish the Lion Lacrosse tradition. The Florida native has worked Lacrosse camps in three different states while also spending time as a head coach at the high school and club level in his home state.
Prior to joining Manderano’s coaching staff in Demorest, Anderson spent the summer of 2009 as the Assistant Director of the Chadstone Lacrosse Club located in Melbourne, Australia. During his time down under, Anderson oversaw team budgets and travel while coaching with the U-16 boys’ team during the course of the season.
Anderson then spent a year as the Assistant Varsity Boys’ Lacrosse Coach at Lyman High School in Longwood, FL. Working with the squad from the fall of 2009 to the summer of 2010, the assistant helped organize fundraising events while scheduling games and having a direct influence in the planning of daily practices.
Having worked on the high school and club lacrosse scene in varying capacities, Anderson’s experience is not limited to his time at Lyman and Chadstone. The first-year assistant has also worked multiple camps on the eastern seaboard including his spots on the staff at the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Accelerate Lacrosse Camp in Charlotte, and Florida Lacrosse Camps in Winter Park.
Anderson’s playing days were spent at NCAA Division-II member Pfeiffer University where the four-year letterman enjoyed a decorated collegiate career. As a two-year captain of the Falcons, Anderson spent his senior season leading his squad to a 7-5 record and the quarterfinal round of the Conference Carolinas tournament, the program’s best finish in over a decade. Helping his team to a national top 30 ranking in every major statistical category during each season he spent at the North Carolina school, the 2009 team MVP enjoyed personal accolades as well taking home four Conference Carolinas Player of the Week awards in his senior season alone while finishing 8th in the nation in assists per game with 2.25 during that 2009 run to the quarterfinals.
Graduating from Pfeiffer University in May of 2009 with his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, Anderson made a academic name for himself achieving Dean’s List status for his work in the classroom. Additionally, Anderson also earned a spot on the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll during his final two years at Pfeiffer for carrying a 3.0 GPA or better.
A native of Altamonte Springs, FL, the first-year assistant now resides in Clarkesville, GA and will be pursuing his Master of Arts in Teaching from Piedmont.
