Jacob Farrell will begin his third season as Assistant Men’s Lacrosse coach in August of 2024 and will coach his second season in Demorest in the spring of 2025.
Farrell's first season in Demorest saw the Lions break the program record with 12 wins and roll through the conference slate at 7-1. Farrell oversaw three Lions (Brady McGuire, Connor Rogers, Michael Anderson) reach the 100-career point club as the Lions had six all-conference players.
In his second season, Farrell once again oversaw the Lions break the single season program wins record, with 14 against just three losses. Those 14 wins included the first in program history against strong programs Berry, Sewanee and Southern Virginia. Farrell also helped six Lions earn All-USA South honors while Head Coach Tim Dunton was Named Coach of the Year, in addition to Johnny Matrona earning top defensive honors and Brady McGuire earning top offensive honors.
Farrell came to Piedmont after spending this past season as an assistant coach at Division III Muhlenberg College. This past season, Farrell helped the Mules to a 9-6 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Centennial Conference.
Beginning his coaching career at the high school level, Farrell spent time at Bishop Shanahan High School in southeast Pennsylvania, helping the school capture back-to-back PIAA Class 2A State Championships and producing multiple Division I athletes in the process.
Farrell has spent time developing his coaching skills at the Lacrosse Evolution training facility under the direction of lacrosse legend Tom Slate.
For four years, Farrell served in the United States Navy before being honorably discharged in 2020.
As a player, Farrell has a Division III background, competing for four years at Susquehanna University, helping his team to a pair of Landmark Conference Championships in 2013 and 2014.
Farrell will assist Head Coach Tim Dunton in all facets of the program.
