Kyle Combs enters his second season as assistant men's basketball coach at Piedmont in the fall of 2020. Combs came to Piedmont after spending the last three seasons on staff at the Citadel serving as Director of Basketball Operations since 2017.

The Lions finished the 2019-20 season with a 14-12 record going 9-9 in conference play. Jordan Foote had a breakout year earning USA South First Team All-Conference honors with 11 double-doubles during the season and seven 20 point performances.

Piedmont earned the #3 seed in the USA South Tournament dropping a road contest in the opening round at Huntingdon.

Combs began his career with the Citadel as a graduate manager before working his way up to Director of Basketball Operations. In his role with the team, Combs managed budgets, coordinated team travel, analyzed film and dealt with all administrative areas of the program along with alumni relations.

He is no stranger to the USA South as he was a four-year starter for Methodist University's men's basketball team before serving as a volunteer assistant coach with the Monarchs.

Combs was a volunteer Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at his alma mater Methodist University from 2014-2016 while teaching high school. While at Methodist, Combs implemented weight-lifting programs, planned individual and team workouts, and organized summer camps in addition to recruiting.

A four-year starter on the Monarchs' basketball team, Combs was named team captain for the 2012-13 season.

Combs earned his bachelor of science in health education and physical education from Methodist University in 2013. He completed his master's degree in leadership from the Citadel in 2019.

Combs will assist Head Coach Greg Neeley in all facets of the men's basketball program.
