Hayden Craig

Hayden Craig enters his fifth season on staff with the Lions in the fall of 2023 after being elevated to Associate Head Baseball Coach. He spent four seasons with Piedmont as an assistant before moving up following the departure of Luke Harris.

Craig joined the Lions after spending three seasons as an assistant coach at a pair of high schools in Michigan following his playing career at Adrian College.

The biggest moment for the Lions during his coaching career at Piedmont was undoubtedly claiming the inaugural CCS baseball tournament championship in 2023. The Lions were able to win the title after entering the tournament as the four seed.

Craig was a four-time letter winner as a catcher and infielder with the Bulldogs claiming four MIAA regular season and conference tournament championships.

In total, the Bulldogs posted a 133-51 record from 2011-2015 with four NCAA Regional appearances. Craig had his best season as a junior in 2014 where he played in 33 games and recorded 98 putouts which ranked third on the team. He also added 15 hits and 11 runs.

For three years, Craig served as an assistant varsity coach at a pair of high schools, Hudson (2016-2018) and Clinton (2018-19). His responsibilities involved coaching hitters, calling pitches, coaching first base and running preseason workouts.

Craig was also the head coach of Adrian Post Legion 275 for two years after serving as an assistant coach for five years. His role varied from writing practice plans to working with the infielders, catchers and hitters. He also coached third base and ran the offense.

Craig earned his bachelor of arts in education from Adrian College in 2015 majoring in physical education with a minor in health. He has been a member of the ABCA since 2016.
