Baseball Earns No. 2 Seed in NCAA Tournament Regional, Set to Travel to Centre College for Regional Play

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind.—Piedmont baseball will travel to Danville, KY, to play Centre College in the first round of the NCAA DIII Baseball Tournament. 

With the win in the CCS Tournament, the Lions earned an automatic bid into the tournament. 

The tournament field is a set of 64 teams in a double-elimination format. The regional field for the Lions consists of No. 1-seeded Wash U, No. 2-seeded Piedmont, No 3-seeded Centre and No. 4-seeded Aurora.

Piedmont was not the only representative from the CCS, as both Belhaven and Maryville earned a bid into the bracket.

Tournament Bracket

The Lions swept the CCS tournament with two run-rule victories included and look to keep momentum entering the tournament.

Centre College will host Piedmont in the regional round, also winning its conference. The Colonels entered their conference tournament as the No. 4 seed and defeated the No. 2-seeded Rhodes to claim the tournament title.

Piedmont will play the first round starting this Friday, May 15, at Centre College.
