CCS Rookie of the Week: Drew O'Neill

ATLANTA — Alpharetta, Ga. native Drew O'Neill was named the CCS Rookie of the Week after the final action of the regular season play, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

The freshman twirled a gem to lift the Lions to a series win and a CCS regular season title, the program's first since 2019.

O'Neill recorded a complete-game shutout in Piedmont's matchup against Huntingdon, throwing seven scoreless innings. The freshman allowed six hits while issuing no walks and striking out one, facing 26 batters in the outing. His performance resulted in a 0.00 ERA for the week.

Next, Piedmont prepares to enter the CCS as the No. 1 seed and face off against the Asbury Eagles in the first round of action on Wednesday, April 29.
