NORMAN, Okla. - After a strong start to its spring season, Piedmont men's golf has made a climb up the national rankings.
Piedmont began its spring this past Monday and Tuesday, putting together three solid rounds to garner a tie for seventh finish at the Savannah Invitational.
In the process, the Lions finished ahead of a number of ranked opponents and were led by freshman
Braden Kiley, who fired three consecutive under par rounds to finish solo fifth in the event and earn CCS Men's Golf Rookie of the Week honors.
In the official Clippd National Rankings, the Lions jumped up to No. 16, while they also made a move into the top-20 in the GCAA Busnell/Golfweek DIII Coaches Poll,, coming in at No. 19.
The Lions are currently on the course in the first round of the Tiger Invitational in Pinehurst, North Carolina as they look to continue their ascension.
