SEWANEE, Tenn. - Piedmont men's lacrosse was unable to overcome a tough Sewanee team, falling at the hands of the Tigers 20-6 on Wednesday evening in Tennessee.
In the final game of the team's five game road stretch to start the season, the Lions held tough in the early going, but the Tigers took control with a 6-0 run in the second quarter to remove all doubt.
Piedmont was led offensively by junior attackman
Nick Winter, who scored two goals for the second consecutive game.
Josh Tamarkin also added a pair of goals and one assist.
Freshman
Grady Eyler continues to contribute as well, scoring and adding an assist while freshman
Trenton Steeves tallied an assist for the second straight game.
Although the Tigers scored five times in the opening 10 minutes, the Lions held them to just one goal the rest of the first quarter, using goals from Winter, Eyler and Tamarkin to claw back into just a 6-3 deficit going into the second quarter.
However, Sewanee then scored the next eight goals in a row to put the game away.
Up next, Piedmont will make its long awaited return home, hosting Southern Virginia this Saturday, March 7 at 12 p.m. in the USA South opener.

- Piedmont won the turnover battle, forcing 18 Sewanee turnovers while only committing 17.
