CLEVELAND, Ga. - Piedmont women's tennis remained unbeaten on the season, prevailing Tuesday afternoon with a 6-1 victory at Truett McConnell.

In a competitive match, the Lions flipped enough matches late to run away with the win, despite early resistance from the Bears.

Doubles action saw the Lions sweep all three matches, although two were tightly contested. That was not the case at No. 3, however, as Olivia Carpenter and Ella Kate Canaday cruised to a 6-1 win. The duo of Kaleigh Stallworth and Caroline Morrison then clinched the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 2 before the No. 1 team of Sarah Row and Jordan Ballard eked out a 7-5 victory at No. 1 to keep the momentum on Piedmont's side going to singles.

The Bears fought back early in singles action, forcing three matches to third set tiebreaks. It was not enough to stave off the Lions, as they took three matches in straight sets to earn the clinch.

Halee Harper continued her dominant play of late, rolling to a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 5 to make it 2-0 Piedmont. Then, it was Carpenter's turn at No. 6, as the junior overcame some early hurdles and won 6-3, 6-2 at No. 6.

Needing just one more point to seal the win, the freshman Stallworth proved up to the task. After rolling to a 6-1 win in the first set, she fell behind 0-3 in the second before roaring back to win six straight games and seal the win for the Lions.

With the match in hand at 4-0, the final three matches all went to third-set breakers. Ballard came out with a win at No. 3 (3-6, 6-3, 10-5) while Morrison did as well (6-2, 4-6, 10-5). TMU grabbed the final point at No. to make it a 6-1 final.

TURNING POINT:
- Piedmont won all three doubles matches and won in straight sets at 5,6 and 1 singles to clinch at 4-0.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Stallworth continues her impressive start to the season, picking up a win at No. 2 doubles with Morrison and clinching the win at No. 1 singles.
