DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont men's tennis fell to Oglethorpe 7-0 in its home opener Thursday afternoon.
The Stormy Petrels took control of all three doubles matches to claim a 1-0 lead and carried the momentum into singles action.
With No. 1 through No. 3 singles taking the court first, Oglethorpe kept the pedal down with straight set wins at No. 1 and No. 3. However,
Charles Parnell showed fight at No. 2, battling back to win a dramatic second set tiebreak before falling in a third set match tiebreak.
From there, Oglethorpe added wins at 4,5 and 6 to conclude the match.
TURNING POINT:
- Oglethorpe took control of the match by winning the doubles point and then taking the first sets in the No. 1 through No. 3 singles matches.
