SEASON PREVIEW: Softball

Piedmont softball is set to open its 2026 season this weekend on the road against No. 15 Emory on Saturday, Feb. 21st with game one being set for a 1 p.m. first pitch.

  • The Lions are coming off a 25-19 overall record and a 10-6 conference record.
  • Piedmont played one of the toughest schedules in Division III last season, with nine games against Top 25 opponents.
  • The CCS Tournament saw two Lions victories before exiting after a losses to #1 seeded Huntingdon and #3 seeded Maryville.
  • Freshman Mandi Peretti earned all conference honors while leading the Lions in home runs and finishing top five in OPS.
  • The Lions dominated at home last season with 15 wins and dropping just three games at the WAC.

THE SOCIAL SCENE: BEST OF 2025

As the longest-tenured head coach on the Piedmont athletics staff, Terry Martin is entering his 28th season as head coach of the Piedmont softball program in the fall of 2025. Martin has led the Lady Lions to over 600 wins in his decorated career, eight NCAA national Tournament appearances, five conference tournament titles and 11 conference regular season championships.
