DEMOREST, Ga. - In anticipation of severe inclement winter weather, Piedmont University will suspend
on-campus learning Friday, January 23, and Monday, January 26, for the Demorest and Athens campuses. Online classes will also be suspended. Faculty will assign take-home work for students to complete both days.
Demorest and Athens campuses will be open on Friday, January 23, for faculty and staff until 2 p.m. However, campus operations in Demorest and Athens will be suspended on Monday, January 26.
Campus Police, Residential Life and Facilities will be on campus and available to serve students. Chartwells intends to maintain cafeteria operations on a modified schedule at this time.
This is a significant weather event, and we expect widespread extended power outages. We urge all students who are able to go home to do so.
Piedmont Athletics has previously announced the postponement of home men's and women's basketball scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 24 as well as road meets for men's and women's track and field and men's and women's swimming also scheduled for Saturday.
