ATLANTA - Piedmont women's tennis sent three athletes to the ITA Regionals this past weekend in Atlanta.

Ella Kate Canaday,
Caroline Morrison and
Brooklyn Bolch each took to the courts against quality opponents on Friday and Saturday.
All three delivered a strong start, winning their singles match before being ousted from the draw against tough second round opponents.
Morrison opened her tournament with a clinical 6-0, 6-0 win over Kayla Cuthbert of Agnes Scott.
Bolch won a hard-fought battle against a difficult opponent from Centre, 6-3, 6-4.
The newcomer Canaday eked out a tough first set against Sofia Rodriguez for Rhodes before cruising in the second set for a 7-5, 6-2 victory.
Overall, the Lions won fourth matches across both doubles and singles action.
Doubles play was highlighted by the duo of Bolch and Canaday making it to the semifinals of the consolation bracket with an 8-0 win over a team from Agnes Scott.
Up next, the Lions will have one more event in the fall, taking on the Belmont Abbey Invite, beginning Thursday, Oct. 9 in Belmont, North Carolina.
