AUGUSTA, Ga. - Piedmont volleyball picked up a non-conference road win on Monday night, dismantling Paine College in three sets in Augusta, Georgia.
The Lions were dominant across the match, winning by margins of 25-11, 25-15 and 25-19 to close it out in straight sets.
Katie Hubbard was the offensive leader for the Lions, tallying 11 kills with an efficient .348 hitting percentage. She also tallied eight digs, second on the team behind
Zoe Coelho, who recorded 21. Coelho has now reached 20 or more digs for the fourth time in the past five matches.
In the first set, Piedmont took a 1-0 lead thanks to a furious 10-1 run to end the set, thanks to a pair of kills from
Kya Perkinson.
The second set saw the Lions pull away midway through the set and run away from Paine. The Lions delivered a .303 hitting percentage as a team in the set while holding Paine to a .097 mark.
Looking to finish the match off in straight sets, Piedmont raced out to a 5-1 lead and never trailed in the set, eliminating any hope Paine had of making a comeback.
Up next, the Lions will finally return to Cave Arena for their first regular season home match of the season. Piedmont will host CCS foe Wesleyan this Wednesday, October 1 at 6 p.m.

Bailey Daughtery totaled a season-best eight kills, ranking second on the team behind Hubbard's 11 for the match.
