JACKSON, Miss. - Piedmont women's soccer dropped a tough road contest at Belhaven, 2-0, on Saturday afternoon in Jackson, Mississippi.
The Blazers were able to avenge Piedmont's win during the 2024 regular season, scoring twice in the second half to pull away with the victory.
Even in the losing effort, Piedmont goalkeeper
Maggie Leger kept the Lions in the contest for the majority, making seven saves.
Belhaven controlled the shot count in the early going, holding a 5-1 edge in shots on goal in the opening 45 minutes before Piedmont began to gain some traction, with the Lions threatening with six shots, including four on goal in the second half.
The Lions will be back in action with two non-conference contests tomorrow, beginning against Millsaps at 12 p.m. followed by an 8:30 p.m. start against MUW.

- The Blazers struck for two goals in the second half and held the Lions off the scoreboard to take the win.
