DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team and 14 student athletes were recognized by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Wednesday for their performance in the classroom.

The Lady Lions earned All-Academic Team honors for the fourth consecutive season while the team's 14 Scholar Athletes gave the team double digits in that category for the fourth straight season as well.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status, a player must have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year.

To qualify for the All-Academic Team honor, the program must have 3.2 grade-point average.
