MISENHEIMER, N.C. - Piedmont women's lacrosse bounced back in a big way with a commanding 23-1 win over Pfeiffer Saturday. The Lions move to 4-1 in league play while the Falcons sit at 0-4.
In a game that was all Lions, it was right from the start as
Clara Welch won the opening draw control and 10 seconds into the contest scored the first goal of the day. Within the first three minutes of action, the Lions were ahead 3-0 and scored four total before the Falcons found the net.
Pfeiffer's lone goal came with 6:46 remaining in the first period but the Falcons were outscored in the first 10-1.
Piedmont slowed its scoring in the second period leading 14-1 at the break and added two goals in the third before opening up the scoring again in the fourth. In the final period, the Lions tacked on seven additional goals to claim the 23-1 win.
Savannah Limehouse led the way with eight goals in the contest, closing out the game scoring the final three goals. Seven Lions scored in the contest with all scorers adding more than one goal in the game.
Rachel Verner and
Ansli Cannon split action in goal, each playing a half with Cannon adding two saves.
Up next, the Lions will be in action at home against Huntingdon on Wednesday.

Aly Reece and
Carson Bezold all accounted for eight points in the game.
- Limehouse led the pack with seven goals in the game while Bezold tallied five assists.
