SEWANEE, Tenn. - Piedmont had a pair of track and field meets on Saturday with a partial squad competing at the Sewanee Indoor Invitational.
The Lions sent mostly throwers and jumpers to the meet with
KK Thomas' win in the women's weight throw highlighting the day. Thomas' 13.67m throw marked a personal best for the transfer and ranks third all-time in program history.
Jayden Smith posted the top finish on the men's side with a 13.55m throw in the men's shot put to earn second.
Ethan Jackson also had a top-five performance taking fourth in the men's weight throw (12.56m) while
Hagan Schamberger was fourth in the men's pole vault (4.20m) with a personal best mark. Schamberger's 4.20m mark ranks second in program history behind Kyle Ray's 4.55m in 2017.
Tucker Pulliam also had a pair of personal bests in the pole vault and shot put while
Ian Grimes had a PR in the weight throw.
Shealee Gallegos finished third in the women's weight throw (11.64m) while
Ja'Nia Gray was fourth in the women's pole vault (2.25m).
