DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's soccer left no doubt in a 6-0 home rout of Agnes Scott on a beautiful Wednesday evening in Demorest.

The Lions have now won eight contests in a row, outscoring their opponents 27-1 over those games.

It did not take Piedmont long to establish control, scoring three times in the first 13 minutes and carrying a 4-0 lead into halftime. Out of the break, the Lions continued to pour it on with two more late goals to add to the tally.

The sixth minute saw the Lions crack the scoreboard for the first time, as Paige Kluba found fellow senior Sierra Judson, who put away her team-leading sixth goal of the season.

Then, just two minutes later, after a shot by freshman Keira Ferrera rattled the post, it was collected Addie Cissell, who fed a perfect pass to Jocelyn Lopez, who found the back of the net for her first goal of the season.

Already in complete control, the Lions added on in the 13th minute. Adriana Blumer's long through ball found a sprinting Peyton Gates, who sliced through the back line and beat the keeper to the far post for a 3-0 lead.

Finally, after an almost 30 minute scoring hiatus, Piedmont added its fourth and final goal of the half with Cissell scoring off an assist from Gretchen Dedolph.

With the outcome in hand, the Lions tacked on two more goals in the second half, as Sophie Wells found Gracie Phillips in the 56th minute, while Madison Johnson scored unassisted in the 80th minute to conclude the scoring.

Although the Lions held a 20-1 edge in shots on goal, Piedmont goalkeeper Maggie Leger made an incredible leaping save on an Agnes Scott free kick to keep the Scotties off the board.

Up next, the Lions will look to push the win streak to nine, but will have over a week off before returning to action at home against Asbury on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
