DEMOREST, Ga. - Piedmont women's soccer delivered a dominant performance in a 3-0 Saturday afternoon victory over Covenant on a beautiful fall day in Demorest.

The Lions left no doubt from the beginning, scoring early in the first half, early in the second half and a final exclamation mark to make it 3-0 late on a penalty kick.

The three-goal performance from Piedmont marks the most goals it has scored against Covenant since the 2013 season, which was the only other time in the matchup history in which the Lions reached at least three goals.

Sierra Judson got the scoring started for Piedmont, unleashing a rocket from just outside the box that the Covenant goalkeeper was able to get hands on but not enough to keep it out of the net as the Lions built a 1-0 lead in the 10th minute.

The rest of the first half saw the Lions create a number of chances, but the Scots were able to hang in as the score remained 1-0 going to the break.

Out of the locker room, Piedmont asserted its will again. This time, it was freshman Genesis Gamez who dribbled her way through what seemed like the entire Covenant team, finishing off the play with a beautiful cross that was put away by senior Jocelyn Maseda.

With the 2-0 advantage, the Lions continued to pour it on, earning a penalty kick opportunity in the 67th minute, with sophomore Summer Huskin converting the opportunity for her first career goal.

On the defensive side, Maggie Leger earned the win in goal, playing the first half and making one save while Hannah Thompson entered to start the second half, and also made one save. Freshman Kendyl Lloyd entered in the final two minutes and also made a save.

TURNING POINT:
- In a series that has been historically low scoring, Judson's 10th minute goal put the Scots on their heels and they never recovered.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Judson now leads Piedmont with five goals on the season.
- Gamez is now tied for third on the team with two assists.
- Huskin tallied her first career goal, making the score 3-0 in the late stages.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- This marks Piedmont's first three-goal performance against Covenant since 2013.
- The Lions have now won seven games in a row.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- The Lions owned possession and the shot count, with a 20-6 edge in total shots and an 8-3 advantage in shots on goal.
