DEMOREST, Ga. - In another dominating performance, Piedmont women's basketball remained undefeated in conference play with a 70-39 victory over Covenant Tuesday. The Lions moved to 7-0 in league play and increased the win streak to six.
The Lions got out to a slow start and trailed after the first quarter 10-9, but from then on it was all Lions. Piedmont was able to race ahead outscoring the Scots 49-16 over the next two quarters to leave no doubt.
Piedmont was led by
Alexandria Willis who scored 18 while
Nae-Nae Eades was just off Willis' pace with 17 of her own. The Lions' defense was the key in this one forcing 27 turnovers with 18 steals.
The Lions allowed just 11 baskets from the floor while Covenant scored 15 of its 39 points from the free throw line. In total, 50 free throw attempts were made as Piedmont was 22-of-28 from the line.
Up next, Piedmont heads to Maryville to face the Scots on Friday at 4 p.m. on the road.
TURNING POINT:
- After a slow start in the first quarter, Piedmont outscored the Scots 22-9 in the second to take a 31-19 lead into the half.
STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:

Alexandria Willis led the Lions with 18 points and six rebounds.

Nae-Nae Eades added 17 points and five steals while also contributing six rebounds.
