SWANNANOA, N.C. - The Piedmont men's soccer team downed Warren Wilson Wednesday night by a score of 6-0. The Lions offense exploded for three goals in each half, with sophomore Davis Knight racking up four of the six.

Piedmont got on the board early, with senior Jason Aussin finding the back of the net. After Davis Knight drew a free kick just outside the 18, Aussin stepped up to bury the opportunity in the bottom left corner.

It took just under three minutes for Piedmont to double the lead as Knight put in his first of the game. Off a poor turnover from the Owls in the defensive third, Knight went bar down past the keeper to give the Lions a 2-0 lead.

Warren Wilson attempted to answer back, firing off the next three shots of the contest but remained unable to get on the board. Knight went on to put the contest further out of reach in the 30th minute, drilling home an opportunity in the box set up by CCS Rookie of the Week Mason Keith. Keith blew past both defenders before connecting on a short pass with Knight right in front of goal.

Out of the half, the Lions wasted no time pushing the lead to 4-0 as Knight secured the hat trick off an assist from junior Colin Vogel.

The Owls defense continued struggling to stop the unrelenting offense from the Lions. Knight added his fourth goal of the contest in the 64th minute while junior Christopher Belin added the first of his career in the 83rd.

Goalkeepers Bobby Wood and Collin Sheeler combined to post a clean sheet, with Wood making four saves in 66 minutes.
