DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont University men's soccer team fell to William Peace by a score of 3-0 early Sunday afternoon. Piedmont struggled to get the offense going on the warm September day.
It was just minutes into the game before the Pacers found the back of the net, with the opening goal coming in the fourth minute.
The Lions continued to find themselves under pressure at the back, once again conceding in the 23rd minute. Fighting their way to the halftime break, Piedmont trailed 18-3 in shots in the first half of the contest.
In the second half, the Lions found multiple opportunities to cut into the lead but remained unable to find the back of the net. Â The score line worsened in the 54th minute as William Peace added their third and final goal with the contest ending 3-0.Â
Up next, Piedmont heads back out on the road, traveling to Asbury for their CCS opener on Saturday, September 28 at 2 p.m.
