RALEIGH, N.C. - For the second consecutive game, Piedmont women's soccer exited with a draw, this time of the scoreless variety against a tough Meredith team on the road Friday night.
Playing the first of two contests in less than 24 hours on their North Carolina road trip, the Lions used stout defense to hold the Avenging Angels off the scoreboard, but were unable to find the game winner themselves.
Despite gaining just one shot attempt in the first half, the Lions did hold a 5-4 shot advantage in the final 45 minutes.
Maggie Leger and
Haylee Dornan split the goalkeeping duties on Friday, with each coming up with one save.
On the offensive side,
Savannah Jerome and
Madison Johnson accounted for the two shots on goal from the Lions.
This marks Piedmont's third overall draw of the season through five contests, but this is the first one of the scoreless variety.
Up next, the Lions will travel to Misenheimer to take on Pfeiffer on the road tomorrow at 2 p.m. Piedmont has not faced the Falcons since 2019, a 1-0 Pfeiffer victory.
