ATLANTA, Ga. - In the 2024 season opener, the Piedmont University volleyball team dropped the match in straight sets to Oglethorpe University.
Oglethorpe took the contest 25-17, 25-15 and 25-19 as Piedmont posted its highest total of kills in the third set with nine.
The Stormy Petrels tallied 42 kills to Piedmont's 15 with
Katie Hubbard leading the Lions with four kills. Oglethorpe came out hot with 18 kills in the first set alone.
Vanessa Manzo led Piedmont with eight assists while
Erin Lemons added six.
