Dani Brinckman Added as Assistant Athletic Trainer

DEMOREST, Ga. - Head Athletic Trainer Ashlyn Atnip has announced the addition of Dani Brinckman as an Assistant Athletic Trainer. Brinckman joins Piedmont following her clinical immersion with Wingate University in the spring of 2024.

"Being able to add Dani to our staff is a tremendous hire and her experience with men's lacrosse is a huge addition for our department," Atnip said. "Her experience and passion are clear, and we believe we are positioned to provide the best experience for all of our student-athletes with the staff we have in place."

While working with Wingate, Brinckman was paired with the NCAA Division II men's lacrosse team assisting in all athletic training services for the program including daily rehabilitation and evaluation for over 50 student-athletes.

Brinckman's experience spans across all levels as she had student clinical experience with the University of South Carolina's football and men's soccer teams as well as time at Lexington High School and Pelion High School.

During that time, she evaluated a variety of acute and chronic musculoskeletal injuries and aided in the treatment and rehabilitation of a diverse patient population ranging from a low socioeconomic high school to Division I athletics.

"I am very excited to join the athletic training staff at Piedmont University," Brinckman said. "Each individual I have gotten the chance to speak to has spoken highly of the University and I am thrilled to now be a part of it. I can't wait to meet the rest of the staff and the student-athletes I get to work with daily."

She is also a certified yoga instructor and led a class of fellow students at the University of South Carolina.

During her collegiate career, Brinckman was a women's soccer student-athlete and was a team captain in 2020-21. She appeared in 64 contests over her career earning 45 starts over five seasons including every contest in 2020 and 2021.

Brinckman earned her bachelor of science in biology with a minor in psychology and chemistry in 2021 from Seton Hall University and her master of science in athletic training from the University of South Carolina in 2024.

She is certified through the BOC and licensed as an Athletic Trainer and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA).
