DEMOREST, Ga. - Two Piedmont University baseball players earned 2024 ABCA NCAA Division III Region All-Defensive Team honors as announced Thursday.

Trace Cate took two of the available nine slots for region six.
Kyle Carlson claimed the region six spot at 3B while Cate earned one of the the three outfield slots. In total, there were four representatives on the listing from the Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS).
Carlson started 40 contests this season at third base with just five errors. He accounted for 51 assists and 17 putouts with a .932 fielding percentage this season.
Cate started all 42 contests this season in the outfield with no errors and 128 putouts. Earlier this week, Cate became the third Lion in program history to earn a Rawlings Gold Glove as one of three outfielders selected across all of NCAA Division III.
Founded in 1945, the American Baseball Coaches Association is the primary professional organization for baseball coaches at the amateur level. Its over 15,000 members represent all 50 states and 40 countries.
