DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont University baseball team concluded the regular season home schedule on Sunday in a tough 4-3 loss to Huntingdon. The Lions fell behind 4-0 and clawed back but were unable to complete the rally.

The Hawks had an explosive start with a first pitch home run off Adam Metivier as Huntingdon tacked on three runs in the opening frame. The Hawks scored three runs on four hits in the top of the first before Metivier settled in.

Metivier allowed no hits again until the fourth inning and went five innings total allowing four runs and seven hits. The fourth run came in the fifth inning after back-to-back singles to start the frame allowed a sac fly later in the inning.

The Lions added another run in the seventh with two outs, but left the bases loaded after Huntingdon went to the bullpen. Piedmont went down in order in the final two frames and was unable to complete the comeback.
