DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont women's lacrosse team dropped its Senior Day contest to the Avenging Angels of Meredith by a score of 19-8. The visitors went on a 7-1 run in the second period to take a commanding 14-4 lead into the break.
The Lions struggled early as the Meredith offense came out hot. The defense conceded the first four goals of the contest before
Savannah Limehouse found the back of the net. After conceding another pair,
Maggi Spratlin gave the Lions some momentum with two goals to close out the first period.
In the second period, Meredith opened with two goals before
Lovette Choloh scored to keep Piedmont within five. However, five more goals from the Avenging Angels closed out the half with a 7-1 run, putting the Lions behind 14-4.
Out of the half, Meredith maintained their double digit lead for the entirety of the remaining thirty minutes as they matched every goal from the Lions.
By the time the final horn sounded, the Avenging Angels closed with a 19-8 win.
