LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. - For the second straight contest, the Piedmont University men's basketball team rolled to victory, earning a conference win over Covenant 83-56. Piedmont never trailed in the contest after taking a 13-0 lead to start the game.
Three of
Noah Reardon's 3-pointers came in that 13-0 stretch in the opening four minutes of play as he was heating up beyond the arc. Reardon's final three of the game came with 14:33 to play in the first half putting the Lions up 18-5.
The stingy Piedmont defense kept the Scots to just seven points in the first 10 minutes of play, but Covenant bounced back to make it 44-31 at the half despite trailing by as many as 19.
In the second half, Piedmont maintained control outscoring the Scots 39-25. The Lions used an 8-0 run to start the second period and kept the Scots off the board until the 14:16 mark in second half action.
Piedmont led by as many as 35 in the game and saw 30 points off the bench.
Up next, the Lions will face Huntingdon College on the road Friday.

--The win is the first for the Lions in conference play since the CCS opener against LaGrange.
