DEMOREST, Ga. - The Piedmont volleyball team earned a sweep of Agnes Scott on Wednesday, 3-0, to earn its second-straight conference victory. The Lions have now won three of their last four to move to 3-3 in CCS play.
Piedmont was hot out of the gate and got off to a 17-5 lead in the opening set. The Lions were able to take that set 25-10 in a decisive victory, but the Scotties were challenging in the second set.
The two teams were tied at 16 before the Lions pulled away for a 25-20 win. In the third set, a 12-1 run for the Lions put the set out of reach as Piedmont sealed the sweep with a 25-16 win.
Both
Jessica Sconyers and
Katie Hubbard added eight kills for Piedmont as the Lions posted a .255 attack percentage.
Up next, Piedmont travels to Asbury for a conference tri-match on Saturday.
