ATLANTA - Piedmont women's soccer forward
Molly Fitzpatrick has been named CCS Rookie of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.
The Macon, Georgia native returned to her hometown and delivered a standout performance in Sunday night's 10-0 conference opening win for the Lions.
Fitzpatrick scored twice and dished out a pair of assists in the victory, both season highs.
All six of her points came in the second half as she scored Piedmont's first two goals out of halftime and then assisted on the team's ninth and 10th goals of the contest to cap the scoring for the Lions.
The game marked Piedmont's first reaching double digits since 2016.
Fitzpatricks is the third Lion to earn CCS Rookie of the Week honors this season, joining
Alison Witkiewicz and
Kylin Rothwell.
