Piedmont Earns Draw at William Peace Behind Knight's Late Equalizer

RALEIGH, N.C. - The Piedmont University men's soccer team earned a draw against William Peace Sunday afternoon behind a late equalizer from freshman DAVIS KNIGHT

In a contest that saw nine cards handed out before concluding, it was William Peace that struck first. In the 10th minute, the Pacers found their one and only goal despite dominating the shot category in the first half 10-2.

Out of the half, things worsened for the Lions as a red card sent them down to just 10 men while trailing by a goal.

Overcoming the odds in the 76th minute, freshman DAVIS KNIGHT struck unassisted for his team-leading sixth goal of the season. Though the Pacers would out-shoot Piedmont once again in the second half, they were unable to retake the lead and the contest closed 1-1.

TURNING POINT:
- DAVIS KNIGHT scored the game tying goal in the 76th minute.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- DAVIS KNIGHT added his sixth goal of the season.
- BOBBY WOOD made seven saves in the contest.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
- Piedmont was out-shot 17-6 in the contest.
- The Lions had just one shot on goal in the entire contest.
- There were a total of nine cards handed out including a red to the Lions in the 55th minute.
- There were a total of 28 fouls in the game.
