SEASON HIGHLIGHTS

  • Out of the gates, the No. 25 ranked Lady Lions battled hard to pick up crucial wins at the beginning of the season. They bested Pacific Lutheran in a double header at home before a road trip to North Carolina. At the Grand Slam Tournament in Raleigh, Piedmont picked up wins over DePauw, Lynchburg, Randolph and Shenandoah
  • The momentum continued as the Lady Lions traveled to the Lone Star state for 6 games, winning 4 and only dropping games to then No. 3 ranked Texas Lutheran.
  • After back to back long road trips, Piedmont returned to Demorest for a 9 game home stand that also included the beginning of CCS conference play.
  • The Lady Lions dropped their welcome-home game against Emory 6-10 before winning the next 8 straight games.
  • Run ruling Berea in back to back games, the momentum carried over to two hard fought wins against Wesleyan that included a Hannah Morgan walk off winner in extra innings of Game 2.
    • Tied 3-3 heading into the bottom of the 8th, Kara Taylor doubled to lead off the inning before Hannah Morgan walked it off with a deep ball to left.
  • The walkout heroics weren't over as Piedmont once again won in the 8th inning, this time against St. Olaf in Game 1.
    • Kara Taylor played hero this time, launching a ball off the center field wall to score Kaitlin Isley and lift Piedmont to the win.

  • The No. 4 seed Piedmont Lady Lions traveled to No.1 overall seed and host Belhaven for the opening rounds of the CCS tournament.
  • Piedmont faced off against Covenant in the opening round, defeating the No. 5 seed Scots via 10-2 run rule.
  • The Lady Lions and Blazers then collided in the winner's bracket where Piedmont fought hard but late offense from Belhaven secured the win.
  • Now fighting off elimination, Piedmont once against faced Covenant and bested them a second time to keep their hopes alive.
  • Earning their chance at redemption, Piedmont squared up with Belhaven once more but again saw late offense doom their hopes of reaching the CCS Championship as they were eliminated.
