AUSTIN, Texas – Piedmont baseball's
CARTER BALLSTADT was named a College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-American for the second straight season, the organization announced Wednesday afternoon. Ballstadt earned a spot on the second team listing for Division III as an outfielder.
The senior from Gainesville, Georgia capped off an impressive five-year career with All-Region honors from ABCA/Rawlings and a CCS Tournament championship.
Ballstadt is the third CSC Academic All-America honoree for Piedmont baseball, joining his brother Brady Ballstadt (2019) and Justin Groover (2018).
CARTER BALLSTADT is the lone Piedmont baseball player to earn the honor twice in his career.
He is also the lone representative on the listing from the CCS.
Ballstadtled the team in doubles and tied for the team-lead in home runs while he finished tied for third on the team in batting average with a .311.
The Division III Academic All-America® program is being financially supported by the NCAA Division III national governance structure to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2022-23 Division III Academic All-America® program.
