MONTGOMERY, Ala. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team overcame an early deficit and pulled away to defeat Huntingdon 19-10 on Friday night in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Lions remain unbeaten in USA South play, moving to 4-0 with all four wins coming by at least six goals.

On Friday, the Hawks were able to jump out to an early lead, scoring the opening goal of the game and taking a 5-4 advantage into the second quarter. However, a late second quarter 5-0 scoring run by Piedmont helped grow its lead to 13-7 at halftime. The second half saw a continuation of the Lions in control, as they led by at least five goals the entire way and punctuated the win by scoring the final three goals of the game.

Junior attackman BRADY MCGUIRE set a new season high and tied his career high with five goals to lead the Lions while senior MICHAEL ANDERSON added four goals and a pair of assists. It marked Anderson's fifth consecutive game with a hat trick.

JADON MORINI (3 goals, 1 assist) and Isaac Harringon (3 goals, 2 assists) also pitched in outstanding offensive performances for Piedmont while CHRIS PANNENBACKER enjoyed another dominant game, winning 25-of-31 faceoffs.

The win marks Piedmont's seventh straight over the Hawks after Huntingdon won seven of the first eight in the all-time series.

Up next, the Lions will return home, hosting Pfeiffer on Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m. in a showdown of undefeated teams within the USA South. Last season saw Piedmont win in the regular season in Demorest while the Falcons won in a USA South Tournament Semifinal showdown.
