BUENA VISTA, Va. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team dropped the regular season finale on the road 13-10 at Southern Virginia. The loss marks the first in conference play for the Lions who end the USA South season at 7-1. 

In the first quarter, the Knights took a 2-0 lead before JACOB HASBROUCK put Piedmont on the board off a MICHAEL ANDERSON assist with 1:10 on the clock. In the final minute, both teams added another goal as SVU took a 3-2 lead into the second. 

ISAAC HARRINGTON scored with seven seconds remaining in the first off an assist by CHRIS PANNENBACKER off the faceoff win. 

The second quarter is where SVU put distance between the two outscoring Piedmont 4-2 in the period to lead 7-4 at the half. 

In the third, Piedmont was first on the board with a man-up goal by Anderson, but the Knights reeled off three straight to take a 10-5 lead with 7:57 remaining in the third. 

DEZMOND STOLLINGS and Anderson added unassisted goals to end the third as Piedmont trailed 10-7. SVU scored first in the fourth, but Piedmont added two straight, continuing to battle, but the Knights kept Piedmont at bay. 

Up next, the Lions will await the announcement of the USA South tournament and postseason play. 

TURNING POINT:
--The Knights were able to outscore Piedmont in the second quarter 4-2 to take an advantage into the half and held on for the victory. 

STANDOUT PERFORMERS:
--BRADY MCGUIRE totaled four points with three goals and an assist. 

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE:
--Three of the final four goals in the contest were man-up goals including SVU's final goal nearly as the clock expired.
