SEWANEE, Tenn. - The Piedmont women's tennis team suffered just its second loss of the season, falling at No. 10 Sewanee, 9-0, on Sunday afternoon.
The Lady Lions battled but fell in all three doubles matches as the Tigers won all six singles lines in straight sets as well.
ALYSSA MCSPADDEN and
ABBEY GRACE VENHAM put up the toughest fight in doubles, losing 8-3 to the ranked doubles team of Emma Smith and Nicole Nowak.
Singles action saw more dominant play by the Tigers, winning all of the six singles matches in straight sets while not losing more than three games in any set.
Up next, the Lady Lions will step back into CCS conference play, with a trip to LaGrange next Friday, April 7 at 1 p.m.
