DECATUR, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team returned to action on Tuesday afternoon, winning 9-0 at Agnes Scott in near flawless performance.
The Lady Lions did not drop a single game across all three doubles lines and just dropped one total game across the six singles matches on their way to the 9-0 victory.
Through four conference matches in its inaugural trip through the CCS, Piedmont has won all four in 9-0 fashion.
DANNIE EVANS and
DAKOTA WILKES began the festivities with an 8-0 win at No. 3 doubles in their first dual doubles match together this season. They were followed by an 8-0 win from the stout No. 2 doubles team of
ABBEY GRACE VENHAM and
ALYSSA MCSPADDEN as the duo moved to 10-1 on the season, good for the most doubles win by a pair on the team.
Finally,
IMANI VINCENT and
BRI LAIDMAN made it 3-0 Piedmont as they also cruised to an 8-0 win.
Heading into singles action needing just two lines to clinch the match, it did not take Piedmont long to put the Scotties away. Vincent (6-0, 6-0) won first at No. 2 before Wilkes provided the clinch (6-0, 6-0) at No. 4.
McSpadden, Venham and Laidman each followed suit with 6-0, 6-0 victories while
MARION SLOYAN lost just a single game as the Lady Lions earned their ninth sweep of the season.
Up next, the Lions will be right back at it in conference play, battling LaGrange on the road this Thursday, April 13 at 4 p.m.
