LaGRANGE, Ga. - The Piedmont women's tennis team continued to roll through its CCS schedule, defeating LaGrange 8-1 on Friday afternoon on the road.

Although the Lady Lions dropped their first line of the season in conference play, it was still a dominant effort that saw them win 2-of-3 doubles lines and then take all six singles lines in straight sets.

KAITLYN HOUSE and MARION SLOYAN began the festivities with an 8-0 shutout at No. 2 doubles before ABBEY GRACE VENHAM and DAKOTA WILKES quickly made it 2-0 Piedmont with an 8-3 victory at No. 1.

The Panthers, however, fought back at No. 3 doubles, prevailing in a tiebreaker, 8-7 (2), to put their first point of the match on the board.

Needing to win three singles matches to clinch the match, Piedmont put its foot on the gas pedal and quickly got the victory.

Sloyan continued her perfect afternoon, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 2 before ALYSSA MCSPADDEN moved to 15-2 on the season in singles play with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 3.

Sophomore MIA VASHER then provided the clincher, joining Sloyan in not losing a single game in a triumph at No. 5 singles to make it 5-1 Piedmont.

IMANI VINCENT improved to 5-0 in CCS singles matches and picked up her second win this season at No. 1 sngles with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 1. Two-time CCS Rookie of the Week JORDAN BALLARD reached double digits in singles wins, moving to 10-3 on the season with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5.

Finally, sophomore HOLLAN RABENSDORF concluded the match, winning 6-0, 6-1 at No. 6.

Up next, the Lady Lions will return home for a quick turnaround and host Huntingdon tomorrow morning at 11 a.m. in their final scheduled home match this season.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- Sloyan was perfect across doubles and singles, not losing a game in either to help the Lady Lions to the 8-1 win.
