Men's Lacrosse Rolls Past LaGrange in 14-5 Midweek Victory

LaGRANGE, Ga. - The Piedmont men's lacrosse team moved to 6-0 in the USA South, dismantling LaGrange for a 14-5 road win on Wednesday night.

The Lions jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, scoring the first four goals of the game and leading by five at the half.

BRADY MCGUIRE was the standout on offense for Piedmont, scoring a game-high four goals while JADON MORINI was the only other Lion to score more than once, as the sophomore found the back of the net twice.

CONNOR ROGERS led the team with three assists on the night and in the process, became the third Lion this season to reach the 100-career point mark, joining McGuire and MICHAEL ANDERSON

On the defensive end, ANDREW PAGANO led the squad with four caused turnovers for the second straight game. Pagano now has the lead in the conference with 30 caused turnovers for the season.

McGuire announced his presence to the game early, as he scored three of his four goals in the first 10 minutes of the game. His first goal broke the scoreless tie just over two minutes in as he added two more midway through the first quarter.

LaGrange scored just once in each of the first two quarters while Anderson's lone goal of the game sent the Lions to the break with a 7-2 advantage.

The second half was more of the same, with Piedmont outscoring the Panthers 7-3 in the second half after the 7-2 edge in the first half.

The Lions spread the wealth in the second half as their seven goals were scored by seven different players.

Up next, the Lions will honor 10 seniors on Saturday as they host Greensboro for a 12 p.m. matchup.

TURNING POINT:
- The Lions blitzed the Panthers out of the gate, scoring the first four goals of the game and leading wire-to-wire on the way to victory.

STANDOUT PERFORMANCES:
- McGuire scored three of his four goals in the first quarter to help the Lions establish control of the contest.
- Pagano is now atop the USA South leaderboard with 30 caused turnovers on the season.
- Rogers' three assists led the senior to 100 career points in his four seasons with the Lions.

NEWS AND NOTES:
- This marks the first time in school history that the Lions have started their USA South schedule at 6-0.
