ROME, Ga. - The Piedmont University track and field team saw three school record fall at the Berry Field Day Invitational this past weekend. JAYCIE PONCE and GARY HALVERSON each broke records in track events while CORTNEY BROWN broke her record in the field event.

Ponce shattered the outdoor women's 1500m record by well over 10 seconds, turning in a 4:47.30 and placing 2nd overall in the event. She continued her record setting day by placing 5th in the women's 800m (2:21.72).

Halverson set a new school record in the outdoor men's 5k, running a 15:09.02 and finished in 2nd place overall at the event.

Brown set the new school record in the women's javelin throw, tossing 37.45m and placing 3rd overall in the event. She followed this performance with two more top 10s, placing 9th in the women's triple jump (9.58m) and 8th in the women's long jump (4.80m).

GARRETT STADLER continued his dominant trend, turning in multiple top 10 finishes. In the men's high jump, he placed 7th with a height of 1.80m. Stalder also narrowly placed 2nd (55.95) in the men's 400m hurdles. He also placed 8th in the men's 110m hurdles, turning in a time of 16.21.

Teammate SILAS GOOLSBY placed just in front of Stadler, running a 15.45 in the men's 110m hurdles for 4th place. Goolsby finished just behind Stadler in the men's 400m hurdles, turning in a 57.28 for 4th place.

In the women's 400m hurdles, MICHELLE CATES finished in 10th place, running a 1:10.31.

Samantha Seymour placed just inside the top 10 with a height of 1.37m (8th) in the women's high jump. She followed this performance with a 4th place finish in the women's long jump (4.98m).

CHRIS DONSEREAUX turned in a pair of top 10 finishes, running a 10.78 in the men's 100m dash (7th) and running a 22.15 in the men's 200m dash (7th).

SKYLER SEEBER had quite the day as she placed second in the women's 3000m steeplechase, recording a time of 13:10.20. 

JAZIAH UPSHAW placed 6th in the men's triple jump, recording a distance of 11.69m.

ALLIE FELTUS and VICTORIA DROUIN placed 9th and 10th in the women's pole vault as they both recorded the same height of 2.12m. Feltus was far from done on the day, winning the women's discus with a toss of 39.29m.

Finishing just behind Feltus in the women's discus was NAKIYAH WASHINGTON, who placed 4th (34.44m). She also earned another top 10 finish, coming in 8th in the women's shot put (11.00m).

In a PR performance, DARIUS SMITH placed 3rd in the men's 800m with a time of 1:54.83.

KAI DOYLE placed 5th in the women's triple jump with a distance of 10.40m. Teammate RINDY GRUBB placed 8th in the same event with a distance of 9.63m and ILEYNA BROOKS rounded out the top 10 with a distance of 9.38m. 

TUCKER COX and PETER SLIGH finished 4th and 5th in the men's 3000m steeplechase. Cox recorded a time of 10:41.07 while Sligh put up a 10:53.08.

Piedmont's 4x400 women's relay team once again picked up 1st place in the event. This time, the squad of BELLA CACCAMO, Seymour, Cates and Doyle turned in a 4:29.41 in the event for the win.
