SEGUIN, Texas - The Piedmont University softball team dropped both contests against #3 Texas Lutheran to open their six game road trip in Texas. The Bulldogs pitchers troubled the Lady Lions in both games, allowing just two hits on the day.

Game 1 – Piedmont 0, Texas Lutheran 4

Piedmont starter EMMA MCBRAYER had a flawless first inning on the mound but got into trouble in the second. A pair of fielders choice's, combined with multiple errors in the inning allowed Texas Lutheran to score the first two runs of the contest. 

On the offensive side, Piedmont found just two hits in the game, with one in the top of the first and one in the top of the sixth. 

The Lady Lions conceded two more runs, one in the fourth and one in the fifth, dropping the contest 4-0.

Game 2 - Piedmont 0, Texas Lutheran 3

Piedmont once again had to face elite pitching from the Bulldogs in game 2 and struggled on the offensive side. The Lady Lions were unable to find a hit in the contest and mustered just one walk in the game.

The pitching once again kept the Lady Lions in the game but Carly Forester surrendered runs in the third, fourth and fifth before giving way to RILEY FORD. Ford shut the door in the four batters she faced.

Ultimately, the three runs were enough for the Bulldogs to put the Lions away, 3-0.
